Career History

Garth joined Thomas Brell & Associates after graduation in 1972. The small firm had four partners, one paraprofessional and a secretary/receptionist. He hit the road running at full speed. After three years the three junior partners left in different directions. Garth became a certified public accountant and partner in the third year. Over the 15 years, the firm grew to 24 associates, four partners, location changed to downtown 10th floor in Citizens National Bank Building, and expanded into all services including audit, accounting , taxes, advisory services, and a computer company. He became a senior partner when we brought on Clayton Holt, Audit Partner, and Patty Dettinger, Tax Partner. Garth headed up the advisory services side of the practice, business valuations, and owner/managed the computer company. The name changed to Brell, Tebay, Holt & Dettinger Inc.

Garth had the largest number of clients including one large regional institutional pharmacy. He managed the account and served on the Company’s Advisory Board. In 1987, the owner asked Garth to come on board as CFO, Over the next two years, we expanded into Indiana and Michigan, becoming the largest regional institutional pharmacy in the nation. Mary Lou Fox was the owner and CEO of the business. She was the most dynamic businessperson Garth ever met. Managing three shifts 24/7 with a no-back-order policy, took its toll. Garth decided to leave in December 1989 and open my own CPA firm. The best part was retaining Mary Lou Fox as a client and helping her sell to a fortune 500 company.

Tebay & Associates was founded in December 1989. Over the next 19 years, Garth grew the firm up to 26 associates and added a partner. The firm name changed to Tebay Mosley & Associates LLC. During these 19 years he obtained certification in business valuation, certified in financial forensic, and certified merger and acquisition advisor. During these 19 years, he formed Value Defined LLC, became an associate of James Bly, and member of BGA.

In December 2008, Garth left Tebay Mosley & Associates and founded Tebay & Associates LLC (2008-2016) and continued the management of Value Defined LLC. In July 2016, he brought on a partner and the firm name changed to Tebay Bronson & Associates LLC (2016-2018).

In December 2018, we decided to merge with Weber Clark & Associates, a large local firm (40 associates). Jeremy Bronson joined Weber Clark as a partner, and Garth stayed on as an independent professional services provider.

In December 2020, Weber Clark merged with GBQ, a large regional firm (top 500 CPA firms). Jeremy Bronson became an income partner of GBQ, and Garth continued as an independent professional services provider.

In June 2023, Garth terminated his professional services agreement and continued in practice as founder/sole practitioner of Value Defined LLC.
